Donald R. Keck, 92, of Newville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 25, 1934, in Walnut Bottom, PA, to the late Frank and Mary “Jenny” (Yeingst) Keck.
Donald was a Carlisle High School graduate class of 1953 where he participated in football, basketball, and track. He worked for A&P Grocery where he was store manager and Beistle Company for 10 years where he worked in the shipping department. Donald was a former member and taught Sunday School at the Hays Grove United Methodist Church in Hays Grove and also the Huntsdale Church of the Brethren where he taught Sunday School in his earlier days. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his sons. Donald loved hunting, fishing, and watching the Notre Dame and Atlanta Braves games.
Surviving are his children, Paige Donovan of Newville, Kathy Myers (Donald) of Newville, Joel Keck (Cathy) of Shippensburg, and Chad Keck of Carlisle; daughter in law, Jan Keck of Carlisle; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; very close and special nephew, Benny (Bonnie) Keck; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his son, Donn “Joe” Keck; son in law, David Donovan; grandson, Jamie Keck; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way #270, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
