David Quidort

July 30, 1935 — August 28, 2016

David G. Quidort, 81, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Pioneer, Ohio on July 30, 1935, grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio. He attended Miami of Ohio, graduated from The Ohio State University in 1958, and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Dave served in the US Army and was honorably discharged. He started his business career as a salesman for Norwalk Truck Lines and moved to Operations and Labor Relations. In 1965 he was hired by Hall’s Motor Transit Co and was named Vice President of Industrial Relations. During his career he served on several boards of directors to various trucking and labor associations. He was National Chairman of the American Trucking Association. He retired from ABF Freight System in 1998.

He was a longtime member of The Country Club of Harrisburg, where he enjoyed many rounds of golf with his friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his close friends for many years. He was a member of The West Shore Elks, Yellow Breeches Anglers Club, New Cumberland Boating and Fishing Club, Carlisle Fish and Game Club, and The Mechanicsburg Club.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Lavadna and George Quidort and his wife, Ann B. Quidort. He is survived by two sons, David G. Quidort, Jr., his wife Deborah, and grandsons, Michael and Thomas of Apex, NC; and William T. Quidort, his wife Carolyn, and granddaughter, Jacqueline and grandson, Harrison of Mechanicsburg, PA.

A Celebration of Life is planned for 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at The Country Club of Harrisburg, 401 Fishing Creek Valley Road, Harrisburg PA 17112. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Peyton Walker Foundation, PO Box 1482, Mechanicsburg PA 17055 or The American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
