Darlington Paul Benn

Paul Benn of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away on October 4th, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born September 4th, 1938, in Milroy, PA, the son of Darlington McCluney and Elizabeth Mae (Hostetler) Benn.

Paul graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1956. Following graduation, he joined the US Navy as an Aviation Machinist's Mate (AD) later seeing action in the Vietnam War. He met his wife Cheryl Gower while serving in Corpus Christi, TX. Paul retired after 20 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother Walter Benn, sister Patricia Benn (Fultz) and brother David Benn. Paul is survived by his wife Cheryl, son Ronald Benn and wife Sheri of Fremont, CA, daughter Cheryl Guilford, son Chad Benn and wife Cindy of Denver, CO, and daughter Cynthia Benn (Beadle) and husband Doug of Harrisburg, PA; he had 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Paul’s life was rooted in faith and family. A devoted Christian, he lived with grace, gratitude, and compassion. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh, bringing happiness to everyday moments.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff of Caorlyn’s House Hospice for the loving care and compassion they provided to Paul in his final days.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 11th at 11:00 AM at Faith Chapel of Carlisle 1453 Holly Pike, Carlisle, PA 17015. Interment will be at Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville, PA. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
