Charles Smith Jr.

Charles E. Smith Jr., 77, of Gardners, PA passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 in Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg. He was born February 29, 1940 in Mt. Holly Springs, PA to the late Charles E. Smith Sr. and Clara Henry Geyer and was the widower of Betty J. Smith who passed away September 7, 2010. Charles retired from PPG and was an Air Force veteran. Keeping informed was important to Charles.  He enjoyed watching the news and was an avid reader. Socially outgoing, Charles loved getting together with friends to talk.

He is survived by his son, Charles (Chuck) and his wife, Kathy Smith of Newville and a daughter, Laurie A. Smith of Carlisle; eleven grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Victory Cemetery, Gardners , PA with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating.
