Carolyn Virginia Snyder Beam

May 1, 1937 — November 18, 2025

Carlisle

Carolyn Virginia Snyder Beam, 88, of Carlisle, PA, was welcomed into the presence of God on November 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 1, 1937, in Mt. Holly Springs, she was the daughter of the late Carl E. and Betty Fair Snyder. She was also the devoted wife of the late Lavern Beam, with whom she shared an extraordinary 70 years of marriage.

A graduate of Carlisle High School, Carolyn lived a life centered on kindness, and creativity. She was employed at Dunham Army Health Clinic at Carlisle Barracks, at Kimberly Clark in Mt. Holly Springs, and later as an instructional assistant at Mt. Holly Springs Elementary School, where she touched many lives with her gentle and encouraging spirit.

Carolyn’s compassion extended beyond her daily work. She was instrumental in bringing the “Baby Think It Over” program to the Carlisle Area School District, raising the funds needed to purchase the first computerized babies and helping educate countless young people about the responsibilities of caring for a child.

A woman of faith, she was a member of Wesleyan Church of the Cross, Carlisle, PA where she participated in Women in Missions, and was a former member of Mt. Victory United Christian Church, Gardners, PA.

Carolyn was an artist at heart. She enjoyed painting, flower gardening, bird watching, and especially loved the quiet joy of hand-feeding hummingbirds. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Laurie Beetem of Mechanicsburg; Terri Mumper and husband John Mumper of Lewisburg; and Kathy Redmond of Mt. Holly Springs. Her blessings in life who remain are her grandsons, Brian Redmond, and Eric, Craig, and Kyle Mumper, and seven great-grandchildren, Padraig, Brennan, Nevin, Rylee, Jordin, Bailey and Oliver who brought her unending joy. Cherishing her memory are two sisters, Janie Nelson and Marty Line, both of Carlisle, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

A service of remembering her life will be held November 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Victory United Christian Church, 1 Victory Church Rd, Gardners, with Rev. John Mumper and Rev. Brian Mann officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Speranza Animal Rescue, Mechanicsburg. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
