Carolyn Smyers

Carolyn Y. Smyers, 89, of Gardners, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in the Thornwald Home, Carlisle. Carolyn was born November 21, 1928 in Gettysburg, PA to the late William Blair and Margaret Ream Yeingst and was the widow of Eugene C. Smyers, who passed away March 17, 2006.

Carolyn graduated from the Carlisle High School class of 1946. She was a former employee of McCoy Electronics and retired from Knouse Foods, Peach Glen as a personnel clerk in 1992. Carolyn was a life member of the Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gardners, PA. An avid reader, she also enjoyed working in her yard and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Aldinger of Mechanicsburg and sons, Stephen Eugene (Linda) Smyers of Mt. Tabor and Michael C. (Kathy) Smyers of Gardners; her grandchildren, Kayla, Brandon, Chad and Brett; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mason, Garrison, Brantley, Branson and Axton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, with Rev. David Clark officiating.
