Carole Jean Wagner, 85, of Middle River, MD, died peacefully Tuesday, December 16, 2025. She was born on July 21, 1940, in Baltimore, MD, to the late John Young and Virginia Irene (Thomas) Steedman.
Carole grew up on 33rd Street in Baltimore and was a graduate of the female Eastern High School in the shadow of Memorial Stadium.
Carole enjoyed fashion, loved music and dancing, reading, cooking, and traveling. She loved to socialize with friends and family, and very much always loved dining out. She lit up a room with her big, dimpled smile and gracious nature.
Carole worked as a legal secretary and as a human resources assistant for the law firm DLA Piper (formerly Piper & Marbury) her whole adult life until retiring.
In her mid-fifties, she became a Jehovah’s Witness. She enjoyed being in the ministry and joining others in Bible studies. She faithfully attended meetings and once she could no longer attend in person, she would view on Zoom. She opened her home to have worship and prepare for meetings.
To the very end, she was generous. Of her time, or in any way she could give, to help a friend in need, to lend an ear, and give words of advice and encouragement, never short on hugs.
Surviving her are her children, Dawn Trout of Baltimore, MD., Lisa Richardson (Scot) of Camp Hill, PA., and Douglas Clarke (Angela) of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan, Mason, Chris, Haley, and Darcy; great-grandchildren, Maddy, Ethan and Ryan Jr.; brother, John “Jack” Steedman. In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Donald Steedman.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2:00 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 505 Earls Road, Baltimore, MD 21220. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
