Carl “Raudy” Lefever Raudabaugh, 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on April 7, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.

Carl enjoyed living life to its fullest while giving back to his country and his community. He deeply loved his family and his wonderful friends from over the decades, and tending to his yard and gardening, the beach, grilling the best BBQ chicken in Bubbletown, and putting a smile on someone’s face or telling a great joke.

He is survived by his dedicated wife J. Barbara Raudabaugh, whom he was married to for over 51 years.  Carl was a proud father of his four children: John (Joyce) Raudabaugh of Boise, ID; Michael (Vicki) Raudabaugh of Anaheim, CA; Tom (Gina) Raudabaugh of Purcellville, VA; and Lucy (Paul) Gnazzo of Camp Hill, PA.  Carl’s family also includes his beautiful grandchildren: John Jr. Raudabaugh, Sherry Michaelson, Tommy, Perrin and Emily Raudabaugh, and Lucy Alana and Lauren Gnazzo. He was blessed with four great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Carl was pre-deceased by his parents Paul and Dorothy (Failor) Raudabaugh, sisters Doris Whitcomb and Romaine “Toot” Morrow, and his first wife Lucy (Moosa) Raudabaugh of New Orleans, LA.

Born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on March 13, 1929, Carl attended Boiling Springs High School and graduated in 1947.  He was a proud Bubbler and played on the first football team there. Carl joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Waldron DD-699, stationed in New Orleans, LA, then in the U.S. Army.  After his honorable discharge from the military, Carl became an accountant, with a B.S. and Masters of Business Administration from the Southern Institute of Technology.  He built a successful tax preparation business, spanning over 60 years.

Carl was a Past Master of Cortlandville Lodge #470 F & AM, and served as a Past Patron of Cortland City Chapter #591 of Cortland, NY, and Past Patron of the PA Order of Eastern Star, formerly Capital City Chapter 146, now Harrisburg Chapter 552, and was a member of the Carlisle Masonic Lodge #260 F & AM (formerly St. John Lodge). He held various other positions in PA Eastern Star throughout his life.

Carl dutifully volunteered at the Carlisle Hospital, was Past President of the Carlisle Healthcare Auxiliary, a member of the Consistory and Zembo Shrine, and of the Elks, and was a Commander of the Boiling Springs VFW. In addition, he was a member of St. Matthews United Church of Christ in Carlisle, Past President of the Boiling Springs Football Father’s Club and Band Association.
