Arthur L. Jones

Arthur L. Jones, 85, of Churchtown, PA, passed away on May 29, 2024, at home. He was born May 25, 1939, in Carlisle to the late Amos L. and Ethel (Hippensteel) Jones.

Art was a Big Spring High School graduate. He played on their football team at the very first Little Brown Jug game in 1956 against Shippensburg High School and was honored at the 50^th anniversary of that game in 2006. He loved hunting, block shooting, and racing ponies in his younger years. Arthur was a member of Trinity Global Methodist Church in New Kingstown, Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association and Duncannon Sportsmen’s Association. He played a large part in starting New Digs Ministry, Inc., by picking up items and attending board meetings. Art was a lifelong farmer and a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Ginny (Kiser) Jones of Boiling Springs; daughters, Rebecca Lemmon (Scott) of Mt. Holly Springs and Sarah Jones of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brother, Lee Jones (Faye) of Carlisle; and many nieces and nephews.
