Alvin Beam

Alvin R. Beam, 81, and formerly of Frost Rd., Gardners, passed away Friday, July 5 at the Brethren Home, New Oxford, PA. He was born November 19, 1931 in Idaville, PA to the late Normal and Carrie Weidner Beam. Alvin was the owner and operator of the Alvin R. Beam Painting Contractor Co. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gardners and belonged to the Little Baily Hunting Camp in Potter County.

Alvin was predeceased by his wife, Eva Jane Nailor Beam who passed away Feb. 3, 2013 and his son Gary R. Beam who passed away October 16, 2012. He is survived by his daughters, Wendy (Randy) Graybill of East Berlin and Wanda (Jay) Beers of Delaware; his daughter in law, Patricia A. Davis Beam of Gardners; three grandchildren, Adam Graybill, Becki Mears and Brad Beers; four great grandchildren, and his sisters, Renee Kuhn of Gardners and Iona Smith of Idaville.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA with the Rev. Eric Anderson officiating. The interment will be in the Goodyear Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the funeral home on the day of the service.
