Alice Virginia (Failor) Crosley Clepper

Alice Virginia (Failor) Crosley Clepper, 95, of Carlisle passed away peacefully early Sunday, June 16, 2024. She was born November 5, 1928, in Carlisle to the late Parker and Martha (Dunkle) Failor, Sr. She was the widow of Ernest K. Crosley, who passed away in 1977 and Melvin Clepper who passed away in 1989.

Alice attended Plainfield School through 8th grade and went on to work for Keefer’s Greenhouse during her teen years. She later went to work for Bedford Shoe Company. In 1946, Alice married Ernie Crosley and were caregivers to the Keefer’s, with whom they resided. She and her family moved to Carlisle in 1965, and at this time she worked for Erie Frequency Control. When Ernie passed away, Alice accepted a position as a CNA for the Claremont Nursing Home. She continued to work well into her 70’s in activities for the Arc of Cumberland and Perry Counties. Alice moved to Mt. Holly Springs, PA, with her daughter and son in law in 1977 and resided there until December of 2023. At that time, she was moved to Cumberland Crossing Nursing Home.

Alice was a member of the Jehovah Witness and Mt. Holly Springs VFW post 7343. She loved to shop, read books, and talk with people in the beauty salon.

She is survived by her daughter, Lois Stoner (Marlin); siblings, Charlene Shaffer (Charlie), Eugene Failor (Donna), John Failor (Cindy); granddaughter, Louann Shank (Matthew); great granddaughters, Halle Sullivan (Coby), Lauren Lasval (Christian); and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her siblings, Parker Failor, Jr., Elizabeth Barclay, Katherine Newhouse, Harry Failor, Paul Failor, Sarah Myers, and Lawrence Failor.

Memorial Services will be held, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs with her good friend, Pastor Dick Reese officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Pet Rescue of your choice.
