William Stephens Sr.

William Alfred Stephens Sr., 84, formerly of Carlisle, PA passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at Shippensburg Health Care, Shippensburg, PA. He was born October 25, 1933 in Mechanicsburg, PA to the late Charles E. and Ethel Stephens. He was the widower of Sue A. Stephens who passed away July 29, 2014.

William served in the US Army, was a 2 time Korean War Veteran and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge. He retired from Masland (Lear) Corp. with 30 years of service. William was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Carlisle and the Salvation Army.

He is survived by his son, Retired Sgt. 1st Class William A. Stephens Jr. and wife Kelly and granddaughter, Izabel Stephens all of Harrisburg; his daughter, Linda E. Stephens Creek, grandchildren, Specialist Jonathan Shields in the National Guard, Zachary and Tiffany Shields all of Carlisle. Also surviving are brothers, Vernon of Carlisle and Robert of Mechanicsburg. He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Jr. and Paul.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 15, 2017  in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA with full military honors.                       Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Mt.
