Sarah Stout

Sarah “Jean” Stout, surrounded by her family and loved ones, went to be home with her Savior on December 23, 2021 at age 78.

Jean was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania on June 1, 1943 to her parents, James Weigle and Margaret Hann Weigle.  At the young age of 17 she met, and shortly after went on to marry, her husband of 60 years, David M Stout, a match truly made in heaven.  David and Jean went on to have three children, later becoming grandparents to eight grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.  Though she never found a hobby she didn’t enjoy, if you asked her, she would always tell you that nothing delighted her more than being surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Throughout her entire life, Jean held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with all of those she encountered.  From utilizing her crafting abilities to cultivate and inspire the youth in Sunday school, to helping sow the church garden to outreach within the community, to dedicating her life to working with the elderly at Chapel Pointe—Jean never ceased to use her enthusiasm and talents to spread the gospel of Christ’s love.

Jean went home to join her parents, aunts (Madeline and Ida Hann), and two miscarried children in Heaven, amongst countless other loved ones. She is survived by many loving family members, including her children Bud Stout, Virginia Roethe, David “Jeff” Stout and his wife, Angelina Stout; her grandchildren, Stephanie Degenhardt, Christina Bauer, Amanda Balliet, Leilani Stout, Jianna Stout, J David Balliet, Patrick Stellitano-Domke, and Dillon Stellitano-Domke; her sister, Wilma Edwards, and numerous others.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” held at Carlisle Alliance Church on February 19th, visitation beginning at 9am and a service at 11am with a luncheon to follow.  The Stout family welcomes any and all people who shared in Jean’s life to come join in this remembrance. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.”
Revelation 21:4

Mom was our rock. She was the one person we could say anything to, and expect to hear truth in return. We miss her, but she is free of the bondage of this world. Revelation 3:20
