Samuel Baker Jr.
Samuel A. Baker Jr., 82, of Mt. Holly Springs, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. Samuel was born September 18, 1935 in Mt. Holly Springs, PA, to the late Samuel A. and Mary Clepper Baker Sr. He was married 62 years to his loving wife, Marie Crusey Baker.
Samuel retired from the former McCoy Electronics after 36 years, where he was a supervisor of hand finishing. A member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where he was the superintendent and teacher of Sunday School. Also, a United States Army Veteran, serving from 1958 to 1960. He loved golf and baseball.
Surviving in addition to his wife is son, Doug Baker of Carlisle; grandchildren, DJ Baker and Kearah Baker-Wagner; sisters, Shirley Baker of McSherrystown, Rogene Wallace of Carlisle, and Vickie Hawbaker of Mt. Holly Springs; and brother, Paul Baker of Mt. Holly Springs. Samuel is preceded in death by his great grandson, Finnick; brothers Dale, Robert, Lawrence and David Baker; and sister, Betty Romito.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM, in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065, with Rev. Matt Plant officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery, Mt. Holly Springs, PA . Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 420 Park Dr., Carlisle, PA 17015.
