Richard Wright

Richard R. Wright, 83, formerly of Camp Hill, PA, Dunlap, TN and California, PA passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 in Green Ridge Village, Newville, PA. He was born October 2, 1932 in Claysville, PA to the late John S. and Julia P. Anderson Wright and was the widower of Patricia A. Sheriff Wright who passed away June 10, 2011.

Richard served his county in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel with 33 year of service. He was a member of the Long Branch United Methodist Church in Long Branch, PA, Masonic Lodge #181, F&AM, Eastern Star Chapter 146 Capital City and the Verhovay Home Assoc. Harrisburg. Also, Richard was a member of Local #1187 Steel Workers of America.

He is survived by a daughter, Renee R. Geho of California, PA; six sons, William Gaskill of Belle Vernon, PA,  David Gaskill of Etters, PA Daniel Gaskill of Manassas, VA, Joseph Gaskill of Chambersburg, PA,  Richard Wright of Roscoe, PA and Ronald Wright of Long Branch, PA. Also surviving are three step daughters, Paula Moore of Mechanicsburg, PA Laraine Gingrich and Tammy Myers, both of Duncannon, PA and Michelle Odelle of MI; a son-in-law, Donald Weaver of Duncannon; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard was predeceased by a brother, John W. Wright.

Funeral and Eastern Star services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA  17065 with the Rev. William Pipp officiating. There will be a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
