Richard E. (Dick) Tolley, 62, of Mt. Holly Springs passed away Thursday December 7 th , 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. Richard was born February 4 th , 1955 in Carlisle to the late Cecil and Barbara Loughran Tolley. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He attended the Big Spring High School and was retired from the former Carlisle Tire & Wheel after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 674. Richard and his nephew, Scott spent many weekends at the racetrack winning many races and championships. Dick was one proud uncle. He enjoyed camping, going night fishing on the river with the guys for catfish and family vacations to the beach. He had a kind heart and will be remembered as “Mr. Fix IT” since he could and did anything for anyone, especially his girls.
Richard is survived by his loving wife Michelle Clouse Tolley of 42 wonderful years; two daughters, Misty (companion Mark Zimmerman) Bear of Carlisle and Danielle (husband Chris Snyder) of Newville, two grandchildren Taylor Bear and Caden Snyder and one great grandson Greyson Benshoff. Also, four sisters Sue &Ed Cline, Phyllis & William Neil, Joyce & Gary Meals, and Linda & Bobby Weidner.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday December 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave. Mt. Holly Springs with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Visitation will start at 1:00 PM until the service. Dick loved his animals so the family ask memorial contributions may be made to Speranza Animal Rescue, 1216 Brandt Rd. I knew Dick from working with him on the Calender crew for a good many years. He was a good man and I really enjoyed working with him . We lost touch when the plant closed down, but I've thought about him over the years often. To his wife and family I send my sincere condolences!!
