I learned this evening that Pat had passed away. I got to know her through the volunteer cuddle program at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. We volunteered on the same day and often visited for a little while as she was ending her shift and I was starting mine. I knew she had been sick and was in treatment, and was so hopeful she would beat this. Condolences to her family and friends.

No words suffice. No expression suffices. Yet I am compelled to extend prayers of light, love, and peace in honor of a beautiful woman. I remember Pat & Paul well from the years of my first marriage as both were dear long-time friends of my then husband & his father.

I wanted to send my deepest codependences about Pat's passing. I have known Pat about 5 years when I started as the coordinator of Volunteer Services. We became friends. She was a lovely person. Every Thursday morning, we would chat about so many things before she went up to rock the babies. She always brought me a cup of ice from the cafeteria for my afternoon drink before she left for the day. She trained many of our new cuddlers and was so well loved in the NICU. It came as a shock to me that she passed. I talked with her in the spring, and she decided due to COVID and caring for Paul to take a leave of absence for the summer. She will be missed by many here at UPMC, especially me.Sincerely Faye George-Harvey
