Mary Olive Armistead, 81, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 in Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg, PA. She was born in Colon Panama on December 22, 1938 to the late Earl Campbell and Margaret (Finn) Orr and was the widow of Edward F. Armistead who passed away on February 3, 2009.
Mary was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Mechanicsburg where she served on the alter guild. She was a gourmet cook, an avid gardener and she enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Surviving are her children, Valerie J. Bugosh (John) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Patty L. Speaker (Joe) of Dillsburg, PA and Margaret N. Speaker (Andy) of New Hope, PA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Justin Walden (Beth), Kyle Hagen (Luke), Kim Montgomery (Chris), Pam Black (Bryan), John Speaker (Blaire), Jessica Grant (Brian), Mary Frederick (Kyle) and Thomas Speaker; 7 great-grandchildren and her brother, Earl Orr (Shirley). Mary was preceded in death by her brother, John Orr and granddaughter, Laura Walden.
A memorial service at St. Luke's Episcopal Church will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to her church at 8 E. Keller St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
I still use many recipes that I got from Mary ! I always get rave reviews when I make the Apple Tart with cheese Pastry! RIP Mary...
