Lionel Burton

Lionel Thomas Burton, 53, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 at his residence. He was born September 20, 1966 in Coatesville, PA to the late Philip Leroy Burton, Sr. and Melvenia Francis (Spencer) Burton.

Surviving is his loving son, Mondre T. Burton of Mt. Holly Springs; grandchildren, Demitri and Sa’Miyah Burton, both of Harrisburg; and siblings, Phyllis Burton of Mt. Holly Springs, Eric Burton (Monique) of Harrisburg and Antonia McCray of Michigan. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Phylicia Burton and high school sweetheart and mother to his only child, Deborah Burton.

Lionel graduated from Coatesville Area Senior High in 1985. He went on to serve in the United States Army during the Persian Gulf War. He was most recently employed by DHL Supply as a forklift operator, where he was very well-liked and respected by his coworkers.

Lionel's greatest loves were family and food. He loved spending time with his family and friends, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and watching sports, especially, the Philadelphia Eagles. Lionel had a big smile, with a fun-loving, joking personality, even stories of being bit by a shark. He couldn't have a conversation without his catchphrase "Oh, Golly".

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 4219 E. Trindle Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
