Kenneth Wolfe

April 5, 1930 — January 16, 2018

Kenneth E. Wolfe, 87, of Carlisle passed on to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 16 th , 2018.  He was born in Carlisle, PA, April 5 th 1930 to the late William and Evelyn (Rudolph) Wolfe.  His wife, Tommie L. Wolfe passed on August 19 th 2017. They had been married 63 years.

He is survived by his children, Ken Wolfe and wife, Theresa of Carlisle, Rick Wolfe and wife, Sandy of Bear, Delaware, and Jamie Wilson of Carlisle, 5 grandchildren, Sara(Wolfe) Goodfellow and husband, Alex of Cape Coral, Florida, Ashley (Wolfe)Cole and husband, Tim of Hedgesville, West Virginia, Alex Wolfe of Carlisle, Andrew and David Wolfe both of Frankford,  Delaware, two great grandchildren, Aden Cole of Hedgesville, West Virginia, and Amanda Bergeron and husband,  John of Philadelphia; two great great grandchildren Savanna and JR Bergeron of Philadelphia, and a sister, Susan (Wolfe) Kurtz and husband, Gary.  He is preceded in death by his Grandson, Jake Zygmunt of Carlisle, and brother, William R. Wolfe.

Dad served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954 in the Korean Conflict.  He met mom at his last station in San Diego California in 1954.  He loved to hunt and fish and grew up in the South Mountain just off of Cold Springs Road.  He was a machinist for McCoy Electronics in Mt. Holly Springs where he retired in 1995.  Dad was a Boy Scout Leader in the 1960’s and loved to go to his hunting camp in Sinnemahoning, Pennsylvania.  He was also a hunter safety instructor.  Dad was a “fixer upper”.  He could fix anything from cars, to sewing machines, to kitchen appliances, it did not matter.  He loved to pick up broken things just for the challenge of fixing them up.  He was a good man and will be dearly missed by his family and his friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 17 at 11:30 a.m. in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt Holly Springs, PA. 17065. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  A luncheon will be held following the service at the Barnitz United Methodist Church Social Hall, Carlisle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local Boy Scout Troop 170, Mt. Holly Springs. Contributions may be made out to “Boy Scout Troop 170” and mailed to; Boy Scout Troop 170, Attn: John Reese (Scoutmaster), 20 Cold Springs Rd., Carlisle, PA 17015. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Claremont Nursing Home Special Unit for Dementia patients for taking care of him over the last 6 months.  Their help was invaluable.
