Kenneth Seifert

Kenneth Lee Seifert, 71, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away January 6, 2020 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was born April 25, 1948 in Mechanicsburg, PA to the late Lawrence Grant Seifert and Ruth Ann (Diller) Seifert.

Ken was a graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, Class of 1966.  An Army veteran,  he served 3 tours in Vietnam as a Combat Field Medic.  Ken retired from IBM with 30 years of service where he worked as a Quality Analyst  and then was employed by  PennDOT for 6 years.  He was a member of the Mechanicsburg Club  and coached for the Mechanicsburg Chiefs Football. In his spare time, Ken enjoyed fishing , hunting, and woodworking.

Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Ann L. (Haring) Seifert; children, Michele L. Kreitman and husband Jeffrey D. of Mechanicsburg and Kenneth (Kenny) L. Seifert Jr. and wife Allison M. of Wyckoff, NJ; and grandchildren, Bekka, Kayla, Emma, Benjamin and "grandpuppy" Parker. Ken was predeceased by his siblings: Barbara Scott, Steven Seifert, and Craig Seifert.

Services will be held  on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM in Shepherdstown UM Church, 1934 S. York St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. A viewing will be held Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisburg Vet Center, 1500 N. 2nd. St., Harrisburg, PA 17102. Arrangements are being handled by the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065. Visit www.HollingerFuneralHome.com for condolences to the family.

Our thoughts and prayers to all of Ken's family.  I knew Ken in Vietnam 1967/68 with A Company 8th Cav, !st Air Cav Div. .  I was the 3rd Plt. Ldr. and he was my Medic.   I will always remember our relationship as I have thought about him often.  I only heard about his death today and I wanted to send this belated note because he was special in my life.     .
