Janet Hoffman

Janet M. Hoffman, 85, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle.  Born March 2, 1934 in Biglerville, PA, she was the daughter of the late William F and Mary (Jago) Lerew, and was the widow of Albert F. “Jack” Hoffman, Jr.

Janet was employed for over 25 years at the US Army War College,the majority of years in the International Fellows Program, where she made many friends with senior military officers from around the world. She was a member of the Mt. Holly Springs Church of God.  Janet was also a member and President of the Mt Holly Springs Golden Agers.

Surviving are her children, Jill Rahal and husband Rob and granddaughter Chelsea, of Mechanicsburg, and Albert F. “Jack” Hoffman, III and wife Crystal and grandchildren Taylor and Joshua of Dillsburg.  Janet was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Lerew.

Janet loved her family, gardening, cooking, traveling, and her many pets which she brought into her home over the years. Special times included time spent with friends and family, trips to Pawleys Island SC, Disney, and New Orleans, and working her magic ‘green thumb’ with her plants and flowers.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Holly Springs Church of God with Rev. Dan Murray and Richard L. Reese officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. A light luncheon will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt.
