James J. Sheaffer, 85, of Carlisle, PA,  passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in Manor Care of Carlisle, PA. He was born November 17, 1930 in Newville, PA to the late Minnie Mae Sheaffer.

James retired from John F. Walters Excavation. He liked woodworking crafts and working on his cars or anything with a motor. He especially liked working outside in the garden with his wife Gayle.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gayle Weibley Sheaffer of Carlisle; a son, Michael D. Sheaffer of Carlisle;  brothers, Joseph H. Dyarman of Plainfield and John Dyarman of Hanover;  sister, Betty Dyarman of Shermansdale and a sister in law, Nerine Rhoades of Carlisle. James was predeceased by his brother Jacob M. Dyarman.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with the Rev. William Pipp officiating. There will be a viewing from 9:30 AM until the service.
