Gerald Zewe

Gerald E. Zewe, 67, of Carlisle, PA passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at his residence.  He was born March 17, 1950 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Donald C. and Mary Ann Dietrich Zewe. Gerald was a United States Naval Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Wainwright .Gerald retired from the U.S. Naval Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg, PA, after 30 years of service as a supply Specialist . He was an assistant chief of Liberty Hose Company No. 2, in Lykens, PA and a member of Friendship Fire Company No. 5, in Carlisle, PA. Also, Gerald was a member of the Dillsburg VFW.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Diane R. (Smith) Zewe of Carlisle; Daughter, Wendy Rebecca Dunnachie, New South Wales, Australia; Two Grandchildren, Aidan and Caelyn Dunnachie, Australia. He was preceded in death by his Sister, Donna C. Rudolph.

A Celebration of Gerald's life will be held Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM, in The Meeting House, 1155 Walnut Bottom Road Carlisle PA, Rev. Josh Crain officiating. A Visitation will be held Monday, July 3, 2017 at 9:30 AM until the service. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Military Honors will be conducted by the Cumberland County Honor Guard immediately following the service, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Celtic Hospice & Home Health, 900 Century Dr. #201, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 .Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave. Mt. Gerry I'm so sorry to hear of your passing .  I will always will remember you sitting along side me in Mrs.Yeager's class. but now you are with your god and your family in heaven and I hear it is a wonderful place.Sometime maybe I will get to see when it is my turn. you will be missed my fellow classmate.

Please accept my deepest condolences in your hour of need. Gerry was a classmate of mine in Millersburg for several years, and I remember him as a very cheerful and kind lad. Praying for you and your family.
