Fay Boychock

March 30, 1943 — October 2, 2018

Fay Ann Murtoff Boychock, 75, of Enola, PA, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in UPMC Pinnacle West Shore. She was born March 30, 1943 in Carlisle, PA to the late Paul E. and Isabel M. Miller Murtoff.

Fay was a graduate of Carlisle High School Class of 1961. She was the original owner  of the internationally known restaurant Fay's Country Kitchen of Carlisle.  After 20 years of homemade pancakes, muffins, omlets, creamed chipped beef and Coke-Cola she continued to do what she loved by working in the kitchens at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Home.  Later, she received her certification as a  CNA and began caring for the residents outside of the kitchen.  A member of Word of Grace Ministries since 1994, Fay loved to help at the cafe before services at her church.  Fay lived and believed in a life of service to others.  We will forever remember her as the practical joker, the life of the party, and the great caregiver.  She did not judge, she embraced us and loved us inspite of our flaws and differences.

Fay is survived by a sister, Kay A. Murtoff Chronister and her husband Larry of Mechanicsburg and her sister-in-law, Jan Habicht Murtoff of Newport News, VA.  She is also survived by her 4 nieces and nephews; Ruth A. Reed and Nell Lee Reed Welborn both of Greenville, SC, John P. Chronister of Mechanicsburg and Erica Chronister Keim of Carlisle, all of whom she loved and treated as if they were her own children.  Also surviving her are 7 great nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her siblings; Janet  M. Murtoff Reed, Bernice A. Murtoff-Crawford and Stuart Roe "Stu" Murtoff.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. On Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM, the praise and worship service at Word of Grace Ministries will be in Fay's honor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Word of Grace Ministries, 3814 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
