Edgar Young Sr.

Edgar J. Young Sr., 95,formerly of Boiling Springs, PA passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018. He was born April 29, 1923 in Hartford, CT to the late Ernest W. and Margaret E. (Gaudet) Young and was the widower of Jane E. Young who passed away May 2, 2018.

Edgar retired from the former PPG Industries as a shipping supervisor and was a member of the BPOE # 578 and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #477, Carlisle. He was a United States Navy veteran during WWII.

Edgar is survived by a son, Edgar J. Young Jr. of Charlotte, NC; three daughters, Jane E. Shelley of California, MD, Kathleen A. Stallsmith and Mary Beth Mazz, both of Mechanicsburg; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey W. Young and brother, Richard J. Young.

A graveside service will be held in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Deacon Jack Paruso  officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110. DadWas a wonderful husband. And father to all his children. He taught us how to respect others and love everyone. He was a wonderful grandfather and great grandfsther. The guys he worked with loved him.HD taught us kids how to swim, Ice skate. We had alot of fun.Dad would take us on Sunday drives to see a new town.He loved history. We went to  see Hapersferry, Gettysburg Antietam battlefield.many others . Washing DC.  He Loved our country served in well and went on to serve in Korean war.My mom dad net in well. Now they are back together facing in heaven. Dad we miss you dearly and LOVE YOU SO MUCH.MOM DAD SORLEY MISSED BY ALL FAMILY AND FRIENDS.WE LOVE YOU DAD. LOVE MARY BETH.

Dad You were the best husband, MOST WONDERFUL FATHER AND DAD.DAD you were the best grandfather. Even better great grandfather.  Dad we Love you and miss you dearly. We will always remember the ice skating swimming our Sunday drives.Dad you are number one Dad and always will be.
