Dennis Shirk

Dennis Lee Shirk, 75, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away December 18, 2019 in the Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill. He was born August  9, 1944 in Lewisburg, PA, but grew up in Mifflinburg, PA, to the late Charles and Betty (Beaver) Shirk and was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl (Engleman) Shirk.

Dennis was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School, Class of 1962 and was a top sales representative for Kunzler Meats, Lancaster, for more than 25 years. A fan of 50's and country music, he also enjoyed traveling, watching PSU football, socializing with friends and family and fishing trips to Canada and the Outer Banks. Dennis was a member of the Mechanicsburg Club, Mifflinburg VFW and Sportsman Club, West Shore Eureka Lodge 302 and an active member of the Mechanicsburg American Legion for 37 years.

He is survived by his children, Jennifer C. Shirk-Weiss (Eric), Jon Shirk and Peter Shirk (Gelene); grandson, Logan;  brother, Mike Shirk; and brother-in-law, Mike Engleman (Sally). Also surviving is his dearly loved dog, Moe.

A Celebration of Dennis' life will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 from Noon until 3:00 PM, Mechanicsburg Club Community Room, 333 Heinz St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
