Arthur W. Starner, 87, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born January 13, 1930 in Gardners, PA to the late Arthur H. and Sarah Beam Starner. Arthur retired from Knouse Foods, Peach Glen where he worked as an engineer. Wood cutting and playing horseshoes were some of his favorite pastimes and he loved learning about history. An Army Corporal during the Korean War, he was a tank instructor and developed an interest in things that ran, especially cars, boats and tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Lois L. Tate Starner of 67 years and two daughters, Sharon S. Snyder of Carlisle and Lisa S. (Scott) Ramsey of Mt. Holly Springs. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Colleen Hardman, Eric Snyder, Ashley Cordero, Jillian Koser, Janel Young and Leslie Ramsey and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joy Nelson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Meeting House,1155 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, PA 17015 with Rev. Josh Crain officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Adams County. A viewing will be held in the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
