Betty H. Wilson, 91, formerly of Mt. Holly Springs, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle, PA. She was born January 30, 1926 to the late John and Evelyn Walters Hess and was the widow of Mervin L. "Shorty" Wilson who passed away October 2, 1992.

Active in the community, Betty was a member of the Mt. Holly Springs UM Church and the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class. She was the secretary of the Dolphin Ministry and chaplain for the Golden Age Club. She was a former employee of C.H. Masland & Son and the Carlisle Shoe Company.

She is survived by her daughters, Vivian Chiapusio of New Castle, and Yvonne Garman  and step-daughter, Connie Lee Wilson, both of Carlisle; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: John J. Hess of Lompoc, CA,  Nancy Finney of Harrisburg, Naomi Lamason, Joyce Mumper, and Jacqueline Black, all of Carlisle. She was preceded in death by her sister, Iris L. Hess.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018  at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Holly Springs UM Church, 202 W. Butler St., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065 with the Rev. Lisa Klinger officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to her church. Visit for condolences to the family.

We are truly sorry for your loss..Betty was one of the friendliest persons. She always had a warm smile for everyone.. I am sure she is in a better place now. We are praying for all the sisters and their families and also for John and his family.

I was saddened to read about Betty's passing, but knowing her heart belonged to Jesus you all can rest assured where she is now resting. Our thoughts are with you all.
