Dear Family of Marie Johnson,

We lived two doors from Marie and Alvie on Ridge Road, Boiling Springs. We remember both as very happy smiling people and especially your mother as a kind and generous person. We loved to hear her stories about her trips to Belgium. We are so sorry for your loss and wish you peace and blessings during these times.

I only knew Marie for about 5 years, but she was a very good friend. I made pillows for her after she cross stitched the designs. She will be missed very much.

Marylou, Bill and all of Marie's family,
My deepest condolences for the loss of your mom and mamaw. She was a remarkable woman who inspired me every day and I was so blessed to have had her in my life. She was so talented and hardworking, so loving, thoughtful and gracious and she loved her family very much.
I met Marie in 1991 when she was babysitting for the YWCA in Carlisle. She began babysitting for me and cared for all my 4 children from infancy. I remember how dedicated she was in the daily care of her mother and then would come over and help me during some very busy years of childrearing. In the early days, sometimes Ashley or Chelsea would come to help and then Alyssa -all were so good to my children - thank you. I will remember the many stories of her family in Belgium and of her teenage years during the war and the excitement she felt on her many trips back to Belgium. Knitting and crocheting were her passion and life line as she got older- hundreds of beautiful blankets, baby hats, scarves, ponchos,etc...
I will miss her kindness and friendship and reminiscing all the funny babysitting stories and good times we had together. Au revoir, Marie. God's peace to all of you.
